The artist Arthur Palhano is taking part in the exhibition In Search of Stolen Time, opening this Saturday, the 26th, at Galeria Flexa in Rio de Janeiro. Curated by Luisa Duarte, with curatorial assistance from Daniela Avellar and Lucas Alberto, the group show brings together works by 44 artists across three sections, offering a deep dive into alternative ways of experiencing time — in contrast to the relentless logic of 24/7.
In this context, time fragments and shifts: from the banal to the imperceptible, from repetition to error, encompassing materiality and adhesion. Taking inspiration from a poem by Ana Martins Marques, the exhibition invites us to rethink how we measure the hours, breaking away from conventions: “if you cut an orange in two with a knife: day / if you open a ripe fig with your fingers: night / if we spill water: day / if we pour wine: night. (…) What use would a clock be to us?”.
