Ayrson Heráclito
In “The Book of Juntós”, Brazilian artist Ayrson Heráclito explores the symbolic and spiritual richness of Candomblé through drawings and text-poems that celebrate the combinations of the Orixás. Each page reveals the 222 possible encounters among the 16 principal Orixás venerated in Brazil, visually representing the union of complementary forces that guide each individual’s life.
With meticulous attention to materials and editorial aesthetics, this special edition from Familia Editions features a hardcover with silver-edged pages, texts in Yoruba, Portuguese, and English, and 238 drawings that engage with the ancestral cosmologies of the African diaspora. A limited edition also includes a stainless steel sculpture created in collaboration with master craftsman Augusto Santos Souza.
