The ground in amorí’s work is to us like ground at midnight.

A time that’s inherently mysterious, when portals appear.

Not in the literal sense of darkness, but as a zone of indetermination—a moment when time isn’t fixed, when it isn’t clear whether something has just happened or it is yet to come. Something has gone on, is going on, may even carry on. There’s no way to tell for sure.
