From this Wednesday (8th) to Sunday (12th), Portas Vilaseca will occupy stand D12 at SP-Arte 2026, at the Bienal Pavilion, with a project that brings together formal plurality and the density of narratives in contemporary Brazilian and Latin American production. The proposal draws on a selection from the gallery’s programme and brings together represented and invited artists.
This edition highlights recent and previously unseen works, such as the installation Inventário de cuidado e de cura (2025) and the sculpture Tridente com Aviví (2026) by Ayrson Heráclito, one of the leading Brazilian artists confirmed for the next Venice Biennale. We also present Nádia Taquary, a standout of the latest São Paulo Biennial, whose sculptures in bronze, wood and beads — such as Mulher Peixe and Dinkas Orixás — explore Afro-Brazilian cosmogony from a female perspective.
Another highlight is Guerreiro do Divino Amor, known for his investigations into architectures of power and official mythologies. The stand will feature new works from his acclaimed Roma Talismano series, which probes the tension between the sacred and the profane, the historical and the fictional.
Iris Helena presents her bold post-it note impressions in the series Notas de Esquecimento and Lembretes. Mano Penalva exhibits Taipa de pé, from the Ventana series, in which abstract compositions of a constructive nature engage with everyday life, the home and the street. Emilia Estrada, in turn, reveals buried memories with a work from her Andalucia series, while Zé Carlos Garcia combines strangeness and enchantment in the previously unseen sculptural work Sombra Verso.
The selection also includes layers of subjectivity and material experimentation in the paintings of amorí and Arthur Palhano, as well as works by Marcone Moreira and Deborah Engel, alongside recent pieces by Caio Luiz, Isadora Almeida, Kika Carvalho, Mai-Britt Wolthers, Mulambö, Samara Paiva and Silvana Mendes. The project further encompasses the textile ancestry of Antônio Pichillá, the critical and acerbic approaches of Pedro Victor Brandão and Randolpho Lamonier, and the political urgency of Regina José Galindo, who presents the video Primavera Democrática [Democratic Spring], a highlight of her solo exhibition at the gallery last year.
We look forward to your visit!
