CAIXA Cultural São Paulo is presenting the exhibition “Entre Ruínas: o mundo em trânsito de Marcone Moreira” (“Among Ruins: Marcone Moreira’s World in Transit”), on show from 18 November 2025 to 15 February 2026. Admission to the exhibition is free, inviting the public to a profound reflection on the Amazon and contemporary Brazil.

Curated by Eucanaã Ferraz, a poet and professor at UFRJ (Federal University of Rio de Janeiro), the exhibition delves into the visual universe of artist Marcone Moreira, who is based in Marabá, Pará. His work establishes a forceful dialogue between the Amazonian landscape, popular daily life, and major social transformations. The artist’s output, whose career began in the 1990s and spans painting, sculpture, video, and installation, constitutes a sensitive testimony to the relationships between landscape, identity, and memory.

The exhibition explores the concept of a “world in transit”, where materials, languages, and time intersect in constant mutation. According to the curatorial vision, Marcone’s art interprets the Amazon as a symbolic, universal, and resilient territory, addressing themes such as displacement, absence, and reinvention.

The show brings together works from different phases of the artist’s career, highlighting series such as Cruzamentos (Crossings), Páginas (Pages), Travessias (Crossings/Journeys), and Vertebral.
